Blog of the Year Award 1 star thumbnail

I was so pleased to be nominated by Sandra of Please Pass the Recipe http://mumandleahcook.wordpress.com/ for a Blog of the Year award. Sandra’s is a blog that I have loved visiting regularly ever since I was lucky to have discovered it. Sandra begins her ‘About’ with ‘When some of your best family heirlooms are flavours, tastes and memories, how do you translate that into something tangible to pass down the generations?’ She doesn’t let the visitor down. Saying that Sandra is a rare gem sounds hokey, but she is a gem.

As the name implies, seriouslyseekinggrannies began, as a blog dedicated to my grandchildren. But although they are getting older and more interesting (to me) I seem to have changed tack. I’ve always been opinionated and I finally realised (I’m slow) that here was a forum for it and that my grandchildren might appreciate knowing who I am / was.

For the 2012 Blogger of the Year Award here are three people that I, in my turn,  would like to nominate.

In her ‘About’, Dianne, who calls herself Grandmalin, http://grandmalin.wordpress.com/ says ‘One day all this blather will be treasured by my progeny’. This, [blog] she says, is what keeps her dredging up the memories and beating them to death with her keyboard.  That should give you the best idea of her writing style and why I was attracted to her blog. I think that however it started, Gran’s blog has turned into more than her originally intended family journal. Grandmalin’s blog is an interesting read for outsiders. I’ve always told Gran that it’s worth the visit just to meet her alter ego, Jazzy. Jazzy’s one-liners can sometimes say more than some other people’s endless ramblings do. She’s one smart cookie. Go visit.

http://kamisbeautifulmorning.wordpress.com/ Kami has completed her NaPoBloMo and is a part of the Postaday 2012 challenges. She describes herself as a ‘Writer – Word Explorer – Book Miner’ and when I read her posts, I can only say that word explorer is an understatement. I enjoy Kami’s takes on the Challenges as I’m sure you would and appreciate the indelible images that her words  always create for me.

Maddie Cochere of http://breezybooksblog.wordpress.com/ is as breezy as her URL suggests. As the header of her blog states, she writes Susan Hunter Mysteries; they are equally breezy and fun. While her blog is mostly dedicated to her novels, it’s also a mix of lovely autobiographical tid bits. I don’t want to beat the word to death, but they, too, are fun. If you read her article:’ When your life is a video game’ it will give you an idea of who she is and confirm what she’s always saying about herself: ‘my husband and I act like we’re twelve years old at times. I think it’s why we laugh so much around here.’  Maddie has a slew of well-deserved awards. I won’t name them because I hope you will visit and find out for yourselves.

I’ve been told that the rules of the award are:

1. Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2. Write a blog post and tell nominate blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3. Please include a link back to this page ’Blog of the Year 2012 Award’

and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4. Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them.

5. As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

    • Thanks ferragudofan. It’s part of the award to nominate three other bloggers but I was glad to do it. I think they are terrific. Hope you visit and see for yourself.
