I’m not even in my writing. I don’t always wait until my work is the way I like it before pressing the publish button. So I tend to admire those who aren’t like me rather than those who are like me.
It’s hard to choose just three blogs that I visit because there are different things that I admire about different blogs.
There are those that are consistently good like Sandra Gay’s Please Pass the recipe http://mumandleahcook.wordpress.com/ I think it’s important to find and read blogs that don’t necessarily relate to yours. Sandra’s blog is a semi-biographical recipe blog filled with delicious recipes that are set up in such a way that any old beginner can feel confident doing them.
There’s Bruce’s blog http://bonzablogger.wordpress.com/ even though he doesn’t post often, I mostly relate to what this fellow Aussie has to say.
I like consistently pretty blogs because I can’t do it myself or interesting and pretty, like Rawr’s abode: http://rarasaur.wordpress.com/ .Rawr never rests on her laurels but constantly involves herself in anything that has to do with writing.
There are those that are consistently witty and polished like Charles Gullotta’s Mostly Bright Ideas http://mostlybrightideas.wordpress.com/.
And there are those that make me smile the moment that I land on their blog like Maddie Cochere’s Breezy Books http://breezybooksblog.wordpress.com/ I’m waiting to hear that some top notch agent has read her novels and offered to promote them.
Grandmalin http://grandmalin.wordpress.com/ writes on issues that interest me and has opinions on them that I can’t help agreeing with. Gran has a character living on her blog called Jazzy. I haven’t seen Jazzy in a little bit. I hope that she’s gone on holidays and will be back soon.
There’s http://2bcreativeblog.com/ who is creative, and Pat a British expat of http://angloswiss.wordpress.com/ .
I have a favourites section and there are dozens of bloggers saved there. I prefer this system to a blogroll. This way I can visit whenever I want without feeling obliged to do it. The above are just some of the blogs I visit. As I said, I try to favourite those that I like for themselves rather than those that are just like me. It’s a great way to learn. That’s how I approach hard copy books. They needn’t only be great literature or books about writing. If they interest me I will read and get something out of them all.

Thank you so much! I enjoy your writing very much. You come up with some interesting topics and they make me smile. I tend to blog when the moment strikes me. I should get better at that or start writing down when I think of something. I try to read the blogs I follow but again that would take all month. Thanks again. 😉
I agree about following / reading blogs. Being conscientious about doing it regularly does take time and tends to take away from your own writing.
I’m probably the opposite Mary. What time I do have for blogging can often be frustratingly spent making a post okay. Sometimes it can drive me a little nuts. If I had the nack of being able to speedily put words together, like yourself, I might post more. I’m happy how it is though, and, thanks very much for the mention above.
You’re welcome, Bruce, I like your posts. (ps I also liked your original photo, why did you change?). I think it’s nicer to get it right first time. Now that I’m my own editor (bad one) it’s something that I never do. I tend press publish then realise that it hasn’t passed the test. Not a good habit to have.

Mary, you are always so kind. I’m honored that you enjoy my blog. Thank you so much for including me in your list.
My post is a bit out there today as I try to find music for my mp3 player for riding the bike this summer. I tend to listen to loud and raucous music that would make my mother’s hair curl. 😉
Oh, and your list is great! I only follow rarasaur and am looking forward to checking out the others.
I thought that WordPress post prompt was a good idea. There are so many blogs that I visit (some more often than others) and like. I’ve been thinking it might be nice of once a month expressing my delight in and shining the light on a handful.
The honour’s mine, Maddie. So glad I met you.
You’re so kind! 🙂 I’m honored to have been included on your list. 😀 Thank you!!! *hugs*
You’re welcome, Rawr. (Or, as my little granddaughter used to say ‘Ooh wenkome.’ 🙂 hugs right back.
Thanks for the plug, and the compliments. These daily challenges must keep you on your toes….not sure i’d be able to string three words together withour a few days to mull over what i want to say.
Molre than happy to do so. No one can do it all in the one day and do as good a job as they would like to.
